Stop windows messenger signing in automatically

So MSN messenger always signs in automatically when it starts and you don't know how to stop it from doing so? I had this problem a while back so assuming that many other people did too I decided to add the way of doing it to this site.

If you DO NOT want MSN messenger to auto sign in when messenger begins running you need to follow these steps. You are basically going to remove the association between your messenger password and your windows default password.

Go into 'user accounts' in the control panel of Windows xp. Thats Start > control panel for those of you who aren't great with computers.
Select the user account that you are using when the messenger problem occurs.
Click on the 'advanced tab' which is on the left of the window under 'Related Tasks'.
Click 'manage passwords'.
In stored Usernames and Passwords select Passport.Net and then click on Remove.
You don't need to worry about this deleting the passport it is only removing the connection to it from your computer. The only thing that will be affected is that messenger will no longer automatically sign in with the same username and password every time you start windows.

Finally click 'close' and then click 'ok' on in the dialog box.

You can download MSN Messenger Here
And there is an article about it Here
